Did you say Breakfast Smoothies?

The morning calls and another start to a new day.  The sun is beaming in the window and the dog starts to lick your arm.  A fresh start.  A new day to embrace the world around.  Then the belly starts to rumble and you get an overwhelming sense of hunger that puts your animalistic priorities right back in line.  Must … Eat … Now. And then you look at your clock and you have to be out the door in 10 minutes!

This is the ever so prevalent scenario for us all.  Time waits for no man or woman.  Life duty calls and the most important slices of life get pushed to the back burner.  While it’s a tough pill to swallow at times, eating must be a priority.

My go to option by far are Breakfast Smoothies.  If you’re constantly running out the door, you’re good to go.  Tossing the mix in the blender only takes a minute or two and you can drink it in the car as you jam to your morning tunes.  While I am cautious to recommend a bunch of fruit consumption to anyone, you’re best bet is to get the fruit first thing in the morning.  While those little tree picked balls of goodness are “healthy” they have a tendency to stack on needless stored fat around the ole waistline if consumed later in the day.  It’s the storage of the sugars (fructose) in fruit that cause this unwanted side effect.  Just be sure to get them in first thing and you’re good to go.  Needless to say, here are my top two simple cocktail choice breakfast smoothies:

Chocolate Treat Breakfast Smoothies

  • 1 1/2 Scoops of Chocolate Whey protein
  • 1 tablespoon of natural peanut butter
  • 2 tablespoon of honey
  • 1 cup of milk or water

Toss in a bunch of Ice and blend till smooth and creamy.

Fruity Treat Breakfast Smoothies

  • 1 1/2 Scoops of Vanilla Soy Protein
  • 1 tablespoon of natural peanut butter
  • 1 banana
  • 1/2 cup of strawberries
  • 1/2 cup of blueberries
  • 1 cup of milk or water

Once again, toss in a bunch of Ice and blend till it’s smooth and delicious.

And there you have it.  My go to AM choice cocktails… The Breakfast Smoothies are the way to go!
